Snail Mail For Children

Did you have a pen pal when you were a child? Lots of children did when I was growing up. In fact it was often a done as a school project to teach better writing skills, manners, how to share information and learn about different cultures.

my-very-own-mail1My Very Own Mail is a twist on pen pals. Mrs. Lisa writes personalized letters to children about books. She includes surprises too! You can get purchase one letter or a subscription for 3 months.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • A personalized letter  (Mrs. Lisa will gear the letter toward your children’s reading comprehension) that is written about a particular book
  • An easy craft project
  • Stickers, temporary tattoos, or other goodies
  • All this in a big manila envelope that your child will love to see addressed to him/her

How does this help your child?

  • It helps promote reading, both the letter and the book mentioned in the letter
  • It teaches them about the library. No need to buy the book, go to your local library and borrow the book.
  • It boosts their self-esteem. Your child is getting their “Very Own Mail”

I know how much my daughter loves to get mail and reading a letter just for her that recommends a book would definitely entice her to want to read that book.

  2. Snail mail for kids is an awesome idea! At one point I was thinking about having a snail mail service for adults who still appreciate a real letter in the mail, with photos and all…
