It's just too bad that the longest I breastfed my girls is 6 months. They wanted to eat more than I can give them after that. lol! Even a few weeks is a blessing to both baby and mother emotionally and physically. I would like to add that nursing helps bring about hormonal balance, offers some natural birth-control protection, and helps mom's body spring back by shrinking the uterus. Both my daughter and I felt very sad that we were only able to nurse a few weeks while my mother nursed me and produced enough extra milk to sustain a set of twins who were allergic to their mother's milk.
