Old El Paso Green Chiles Review Tackle The Taste Giveaway

Tonight I made my famous chili but added Old El Paso Green Chiles for the first time. As  much as I hate to admit it, my chili tasted better than ever. I thought the Green Chiles were going to be uncooked and spicy, but they are cooked, soft and not in the least spicy. They add a distinctive flavor and were easy to mix into the chili.

After this good result, I’ll be using Old El Paso Green Chiles in more dishes, especially those that my husband likes. There’s a lot of snacks that are made for special times like the Super Bowl. We like Nachos and Seven Layer Bean Dip but now I’ll be adding Green Chiles. My husband will want to give these Taco Nachos a try on the grill.

Old El Paso Green Chiles come in 4.5 and 7 oz cans. Cook Frugally For Family

Cook frugally for your family and save money on one of the biggest items in your budget – your grocery bill. One way to accomplish this is to buy food items when they are on sale, when you have coupons (if possible) and buy them in bulk. Then plan meals for these foods that are unique so that your family won’t get bored and will eat what you’ve purchased.

For example I buy chicken wings in bulk when they are on sale. I compare shopping prices in advance to be sure that I am getting the best deal possible. Then I research recipes for chicken wings, print them out and make them to cook and use up the chicken wings. Some of the best places that I’ve found recipes is on food blogs. To make this process easier I need to buy one of those freezers to store my bulk grocery items. This way I won’t have to cook things quickly and I can buy even more groceries.

When I look for shopping deals I am sure to only buy what my family will eat. It’s not worth it to buy groceries on sale, even if the sale is the best deal around, if the food will go to waste. I’ve tried covering up chicken thighs with some great recipes but sauces and gravies will only go so far. Don’t get fooled into thinking you can trick your family. It will be a big waste of money.

The savings can go toward paying off bills or adding to a vacation fund. You’ll feel a sense of accomplishment when you cook frugally for your family.

I had the opportunity to taste Chicken Tuscany. Growing up eating real Italian food which included Chicken soup, I admit that was hesitant to give this a try. I really enjoyed it though and ate the whole can for dinner last night. It was delicious. The addition of Great Northern Beans was almost as good as Cannellini beans and I thought the spinach was escarole. Though not perfect, it is a very good substitute, especially when you can just open a can instead of having to prepare and cook it.

I usually don’t eat the celery from any canned soup, but this had the real taste of the vegetable I enjoy. Each spoonful was full of chicken, beans, carrots, tomatoes, etc. It wasn’t overly salty either and was hearty enough for a meal for me. (I did eat a late lunch, so maybe adding a salad will be better.)

Chex Mix Bars are just the perfect for when you get a snack attack. I seem to get them in the late afternoon and late evening. For the afternoon, I want to be sure to eat something that is good enough to share with my daughter. She seems to hear the cabinet door open no matter how quiet I try to be.

Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters Review

Nature Valley has come out with a new snack that is 100% natural – Granola Nut Clusters. As someone who likes potato chips and nachos and thinks that granola is something that needs chocolate added to it to taste good, I admit that I was a bit scared to taste any of the four flavors – Roasted Almond, Honey Roasted Peanut, Nut Lover and Roasted Cashew. But, boy am I glad that I did.

They are delicious! They are crunchy, taste sweet with a bit of salt and are hard to stop eating once you start. There’s no way of knowing that you are eating granola. Each bag is resealable, contains 5 servings in each bag (one serving is about 7 clusters) and has a Box Top for Education tag. (It is located on the top of the bag that you rip off, so be sure to cut it off before you throw that away.)
