Banana Nut Cheerios Review and Giveaway
*CONTEST ENDED. WINNERS ANNOUNCED .*
Cheerios are one of the first foods parents give their children when they learn to pick up food and feed themselves. Whenever I see Cheerios I’m reminded of chubby little hands grabbing them off high chair trays. What memories! I also remember the taste and health benefits of this cereal.
I was given the opportunity to try Banana Nut Cheerios and was thrilled with their latest flavor. It is not an over powering banana taste, but just right. It reminded me of banana muffins. Bananas are one of my favorite fruits but one of the only foods to give me heartburn. Being able to have cereal with bananas, something I love, was a joy.
The health aspects of Cheerios continue with this flavor. One serving with skim milk contains just 150 calories. Made with whole grain, it is also a good source of calcium and can help reduce the risk of heart disease. It is low in fat, a good source of vitamin D and iron.

Win one of three Banana Nut Cheerios Basket! This basket contains a coupon for a free box of Banana Nut Cheerios, a banana tree with fruit basket, bread loaf pan and a set of two cereal bowls.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day With Your Children
Valentine’s Day doesn’t only have to be about romantic love. If you have children, why not show them you love them too? No need to buy gifts or spend any money on them. I feel there’s too much of that happening with holidays now anyway. There’s other ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your children:
- Make some decorations together – A Laced Heart, A Cut-Out Paper Heart and Valentine Paper Chains. Then have fun hanging them up around your home.
- Printable Valentine’s Day cards are available for school, for teachers, and for each other.
- Make and eat some heart shaped food – Pancakes with Maple and Raspberry Sauce, pizza, cut up sandwiches using a SweetBytes Sandwich Crust Cutter- Heart Shape
- Spend some time together reading a book, watching a movie like Lady and the Tramp (50th Anniversary Edition)
, or
just talking. Be sure to cuddle!

Super Bowl Party For Your Children
So you’re having a Super Bowl party? Or maybe you’re attending one. Want some ideas to keep the children happy, busy and eating while you have fun too? It’s possible for adults to include children in their party if it’s not going to be too rowdy. Let your kids start to learn about one of the biggest sporting events in the United States.

Where?
- If there are very young children or infants you probably want to keep the children in the same room as the adults. This is especially true if there are older children and younger children, unless there is someone old enough and responsible enough to be a paid babysitter in that room.
- If the children are about the same age and able to get along, you can have them in a room that is next to your party room. The adults take turns keeping an eye on them.
- Be sure the room is child proofed. If possible a play room is best. If not, make it as wide open as possible.
What To Do?
- Let them make their own banners or flags for the team they are routing for. All you need is construction paper, markers, glue sticks and a copy of the Arizona Cardinals Logo and the Pittsburgh Steelers Logo.
- Provide an Inflatable Football Beach Ball
or balloons and provide some time for the children to have a short time for a football toss.
- Play “hot football” game – the same as hot potato but using a football.
- Decorate cookies or cake with icing, candy, etc. using football shapes, logos, goal posts, etc.
- Provide prizes for the games, like small candies, $1 store toys especially related to football and cheer leading.
What To Eat?
- Provide juice, water and milk for the children to drink.
- Provide some healthy alternatives such as cut up fruit, cheese cubes, crackers, pretzels, etc.
- Most children like hot dogs, macaroni and cheese and pizza. Have a lot of those foods on hand.
- For snacks, be sure to separate the spicy foods so that children don’t eat them by accident.
- For desserts, the decorated cookies and/or cake or even cupcakes are just perfect.
- Be sure to keep candy and snacks in a different room so that the children don’t eat too much.
What are some of the things that you do for Super Bowl Sunday for your children?
Little Debbie 100 Calorie Snacks Review and Giveaway
*CONTEST ENDED. WINNER ANNOUNCED SOON.*
A few days ago, I got a huge surprise waiting outside my door. There was a big box with the picture of Little Debbie on it.

I knew that I was getting samples from them, but I never thought the box would be so big and that there would be eight boxes of Little Debbie 100 Calories Snacks:
- Chocolate Cakes – So yummy! These are just right when I start craving chocolate. They hit the spot.
- Yellow Cakes – Just like a small version of a cupcake with icing, or a piece of cake with icing. Remember the cake and icing part.
- Nutty Bar Singles – I craved these during one of my pregnancies. Eating them again was like heaven without the morning sickness. Peanut Butter, chocolate and with a crunchy wafer. *These are not part of the salmonella recall and are perfectly safe to eat.*
- Nutty Bar P.B. Stix – Same minus the chocolate. Sometimes you just don’t feel like chocolate. Not me, but you and my husband. *Not in recall as above.*
- Gingerbread Cookies – Reminds me of the holidays every day. And they even have icing!
- Marshmallow Treats – Reminds me of Girl Scouts without the camping. So buttery and marshmallowy. (Yes I know that’s not a word, but how else can I describe it?)
- Triple Fudge Brownies – Need I say more?
- Snow Puffs – I thought these would be too much, too sweet. Boy, was I wrong. Marshmallow and coconut on top of a fudge cookie is the perfect snack any time.

Now you too can be just as lucky as me. I along with Little Debbie are giving away 3 boxes full of eight boxes of these delicious 100 Calories Snacks.
