I never got rewarded for good grades but I know at least one of my nieces was. She struggled with school, though so they did it as incentive. I have another niece who makes really good grades and I don’t think she gets rewarded for them. I hope my little girl when she gets school age enjoys school as much as I did. Good grades will be reward enough.

We rewarded our DD26 and DD22 with a small gift when they made Honor Roll, and also Deans List in college. When DD26 was in 8th grade she made straight A's two semesters in a row, and said she would like a cat. The Cat is 12 now and lives at my house, DD26 is married. Your daughter is the same age as my youngest and they sound just alike

I don’t reward my girls for getting good grades either, aside from of course letting them know that they are doing a great job. Once in a while my daughter will whine to stay on her computer game another hour and she’ll say, ‘but mom, I had an excellent report card!’ If it’s not a weeknight, I let her. That’s about the extent of ‘rewards’ they get.

Now my high schooler strives for good grades just because she likes being on top. She doesn’t do it to please us but of course we’re incredible pleased when she brings home all A’s
