The Inauguration and Your Children

This year’s Inauguration will be held this Tuesday, January 20th. There are many events that can be viewed on television and on the web. There are activities that you can do with your children either before or during the Inauguration. This day is history in the making. I hope that you will educate your child about the meaning of this day and do something together.

Great activities to get children involved in history in the making. I am going to pass along several of the ideas to my daughter (for grandkids). Thanks for sharing.

These are some wonderful activities for children to do this week. We are making history!

You’ve come up with some great ideas!

It would be great to get kids interested by doing some of the things you listed. I will admit that this is the first inaugural speech of which I actually listened.

These are all great things- it really seems like many families took time yesterday w/their kids and many were able to be part of the historical day. I know we locally had events and many kids were there.

LOL I think I need to education MYSELF about this day. Its in the USA so that explains why I dont know about it. It sounds like alot of fun with all the activities and events. Hope everyone who does it has fun.

Plenty of creative activities you came up with. This was a
day when everyone had an opportunity to have some fun and make history too!

Hey Connie, I really like the link to the US Flag writing paper – that’s such a great idea for kids to write to the President! The art of letter writing is dying quickly and that would be a very special project – one kids would probably remember for the rest of their lives.

This was really a great time for the kids to get involve..
